M2 Chip

Yes! You read it correctly! Apple has released M2 Chip. M1 Chip has always been powerful in terms of performance and battery life. However, M2 begins the next chapter for Apple silicon, which has transformed the Mac lineup with its blazing performance and power efficiency.

The M2 is made with improved second-generation 5-nanometer technology. It has a total of 20 billion transistors, that’s 25% more than M1. Its 16-core Neural Engine can perform up to 15.8 trillion operations per second, allowing it to speed up machine learning processes. In addition, up to 24GB of high-performance unified memory provides shared memory access to the CPU and GPU.

Multitasking and running numerous apps is a breeze because of the 100GB/s memory bandwidth, which is 50% faster than the M1.

Apple

CPU

The M2’s next-generation 8-core CPU is up to 18% quicker than the M1. So you can get things done quickly, like preparing documents and presentations, or tackle more difficult activities like developing in Xcode or mixing tracks in Logic Pro with Spatial Audio.

Apple

GPU

M2 provides a significant jump in graphics performance — up to 35 % faster than M1 — for everything from color correction to 4K and 8K video editing.

1. Design

Apple

MacBook Air has an entirely new design that is remarkably thin from every angle. It measures just 11.3 mm thin, is only 2.7 pounds, and features a durable, all-aluminium unibody enclosure that feels incredibly solid and is built to last.

2. MagSafe

Apple

MagSafe is back on the MacBook Air, providing consumers with a dedicated charging connector that is simple to attach. Moreover, it also protects the MacBook Air by releasing swiftly if the charging cable is mistakenly tugged when it is plugged in. There are two Thunderbolt ports on the MacBook Air for connecting a range of accessories, as well as a 3.5 mm audio socket that supports high-impedance headphones.

3. MagicKey Board

Apple

Magic Keyboard, which is both comfortable and quiet, now adds a full-height function key row for rapid access to favourite controls and shortcuts. Touch ID allows you to unlock your Mac, input passwords, and make secure transactions or payments with just a swipe of your finger. With the larger Force Touch trackpad, you’ll have a lot more room to work with precision.

4. Display

Apple

The new MacBook Air comes with a stunning 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display that has been pushed closer to the sides and up around the camera to fit the menu bar. As a result, the display is larger, and the borders are significantly thinner, offering consumers more screen real estate to see their material in stunning detail. It’s also 25% brighter than the former one, with 500 nits of brightness. In addition, the upgraded display now supports 1 billion colors, resulting in exceptionally bright photos and movies.

5. New Charging Option

Apple

The MacBook Air comes with several charging options, including a brand-new 35W compact power adapter with two USB-C connections that allow users to charge two devices simultaneously. For the first time, the MacBook Air features a quick charge, which allows you to charge up to 50% faster in just 30 minutes with a 67W USB-C power adapter.

MacBook Pro

2. Magic Keyboard and Touch Bar

Apple

Magic Keyboard provides a typing experience that is comfortable, silent, and responsive. The Touch Bar places the most frequently used commands right where you need them, saving you time and keystrokes. Touch ID also allows for quick and simple authentication for safe logins and purchases.

3. Connectivity

MacBook Pro with M2 Connection is made faster than ever.

Apple

The combination of ultra-high bandwidth and ultra-versatility is unmatched. Thunderbolt allows you to transfer data, charge your device, and output video, all from a single connector, and the MacBook Pro includes two of them. As more devices join the network, Wi-Fi 6 keeps MacBook Pro going strong. High-impedance headphones are also supported by the headphone jack.

Conclusion

Apple Silicon has always been excellent in terms of performance. M2 chip brings a new era to the Mac line-up with its blazing performance and power efficiency. M2 chip will also bring an amazing performance to the next-generation MacBook Air and MacBook Pro. Apple has released iOS 16, iPadOS 16, watchOS 9 and macOS 13 Ventura.
