I was never much of a horror fan as a kid. To put it plainly: I was too scared. Now, as an adult, I find that I’m not really scared of much (on film), and if I’m not scared, then I’m probably not rating your horror film/story too highly. So, I’m definitely not an enthusiast on par with the already thousands of amateurs writing about horror on the internet. October is a great time of year to get thinking about it though — and to make a point of watching and reading things that scare you.

So, I’m going to try to make a point of highlighting one piece of horror fiction per day throughout the month of October — mostly films, but I might throw in a book, or a TV series, or some other piece of media — and I’ll list them below! This is mostly a personal exercise to start writing again, but if you want to follow along with me, that’s great.
