Landed at Skaftafell as planned. It’s the nearest airstrip to the coordinates Isam gave me. We’re on an island that’s been completely deserted for years now. They say once it was a place of glaciers and flowing rivers with a mild, pleasant climate. Now it’s a cold, barren land with jugged ridges and violent volcanic activity. Temperature outside is below zero. We’re resting within the aircarrier tonight–Isam is aft, preparing some synthfood before we call it a day. Tomorrow we head further North, towards the centre of Vatnajökull. Hell of a place to build a station if you ask me.
