Kick off to 2019

Road map for the year Juven takes over the world

I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but we at Juven are an ambitious bunch. We eat impossible plans for breakfast. Have an idea to start a University campaign over the weekend? Monday we’re up and running. And within a month we already have more than an eighth of all university organizations in Hong Kong signed up. Plans for a new product feature? Discuss. Plan. Execute. Within three days we have design screens and process flows ready for the developers to code into existence.

So we don’t mean to brag — okay, maybe just a little — but Juven is happening, and 2019 is the year Juven takes over the world. So kicking off the year, here are some of what we’re planning and doing to help us reach our goal!

On the business side of things:

Juven will subsidize university student events!

Our University student organization campaign carries on into the new year at full steam as we continue to seek to serve university student clubs and associations through subsidizing their use of the Juven platform for events and membership functions. We also seek out other commercial sponsorship opportunities for them.

And while we are still on the topic, we’ve recently been joined by our new student ambassador as well as our new winter intern. We’ve already assigned them challenging duties to grow them as professionals and create a positive impact for Juven. Being a member of Juven means always striving to create an impact no matter what, even if you are (just) an intern! We welcome Joseph and Hinna aboard. Let’s make your time in Juven an excellent one!

We’ve also been invited to provide internship opportunities by Business Association BEA HKUSU, and to join their upcoming business workshop. The association represents over 2000 current members and 100000 members in extended member base. We will attend the workshop and host their interns for a number of days so they get an over-the-shoulder experience of what life in a startup is like.

Juven plans to be an exhibitor at Hong Kong University startup job fair organized by Cedars House, and also to give a sharing session to students and attendees on working at a startup in Hong Kong. Look forward to a roundup of that in February. We will also be joining MarketingPulse branding and marketing conference, and other similar business development events as well to network, have conversations, exchanges of ideas, and generate impressions for Juven.

In 2018, we welcomed the Hong Kong Boxing Association, Hong Kong Badminton Association, Hong Kong Taekwondo Association, and Hong Kong Triathlon aboard to using Juven. In Q1 2019, we will still be pursuing the sports sector. In fact, we have a mystery sport event in the works in collaboration with a major event organization (sorry, NDAs until release) which we will be very excited to announce in the near future.

We’re also finally getting our own dedicated blog page with Chinese and English blogs on the Juven website to continue to improve traffic to the site as well as serve up helpful content for English and Chinese readers.

Moving on to the Product side of the aisle, we have:

Our integrated approach to all the tools we put at organization’s disposal means that we are always striving to add new and excellent features to our product to better serve organizations. We continue to cast our net ever-wider to become the best platform for organizations in events and membership. As our platform becomes better with each development cycle, our users are bound to benefit as more organizations sign up as this will create exponential networked benefits for all, whether B-users or C-users.

Your membership plan in this space

Since our first development cycle, which was focused on perfecting our event functions that will cover most users, we have entered into our next development cycle. Our focus is on fully becoming a membership platform for organizations, professional bodies , clubs and associations. We’re also creating automated membership renewal periods and notices. We are also running tests for a module that will allow organizations to design their own virtual “membership cards” for their members to carry around and show off to others.

We have here a sneak preview of our upcoming new homepage design:

Our new user homepage for better event discovery

This new design will focus on helping users to find events and organizational memberships. This new design will give leverage to the organizations that are onboard with us to give their events and memberships exposure and find customers. It will also help users to find events and memberships for organizations that interest them.

And now I have saved best for last:

Design screens for the Juven user app

We are making a Juven app. This charming little app will allow users to browse and purchase the events and memberships available on Juven, in line with our new homepage that is optimized for event and membership discovery. The new user app will also help store tickets and calendars, while sending reminder notifications to users about upcoming events that they have. Look to see this mid Q2.

2019 is shaping up to be a great year for Juven. There will be many challenges and opportunities ahead for us, but our values will always be the same: excellence, impact and the best service for our customers and their members. We hope you are as excited about 2019 as we are!
