In the Bible, Jeremiah writes, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
“Let’s show this guy!” I called to my best friend, Monica, as she pressed the gas pedal to the floor and moved the Chrysler Lebaron into the passing lane.
The headlights staring down at us took us both by surprise. In a split second, we were headed for a collision.
Lord help me!
But I wasn’t sure if God would hear me. Truthfully I didn’t know if He could hear me. …

I first started publishing on Medium in 2016. I can’t remember how I stumbled across the platform, but at the time is was characterized as a place for writers to share their creativity. …
Dear J.,
I suffer from depression.
I have since I was a young child. But never labeled it as such. Because I’ve had it for so long, I think I’ve assumed it was “normal” and that everyone experienced it.
I would feel helpless, unmotivated. I believe that I masked it well through high school and university with alcohol and drugs.
I’ve always hated that haunting feeling in the back of my mind, is this as good as it gets? Is this it?
I always felt like something was missing. …

Switching on the power works the same way in our Christian life. …
When it comes to networking, most people are familiar with the two simple tips to carry business cards in your right pocket and collect other attendees’ cards in your left, and wear your name tag on the upper right side of your chest.
Although these tips may be handy and I could probably come up with 5 more similar ideas like volunteer at the event, ask open-ended questions, remember to smile, keep records of who you meet, and followup with a short email. But networking is so much more than this.
Simply put, networking is about helping others.
It’s not about schmoozing and looking to see what’s in it for you. It’s about meeting the needs of others. …
Namaste! (Hello!)
I work at a Canadian college and last year we had a historically large influx of international students with the majority of them coming from India.
As I work in customer service with these students, I thought it would be of mutual benefit for me to research and identify their beliefs and values.
I discovered three main values of this group:
Knowing these values will help influence my customer service interaction with members of this group and will be helpful to others prior to a customer service interaction.
Unlike our culture in Canada, people in India respect the elderly and look to them for advice. Many generations may live together in one household along with other relatives. …
