TL;DR: Here is my list of things you should be considering as you reboot your business for 2024, focusing on Salesforce generally and your Mobile offering specifically.

Here’s the first post in this series, which includes background and how you can save $150k/year: https://medium.com/@kmcafeesf/the-12-days-of-salesforce-for-2024-day-one-dd8051e0adee

Day Seven (of Twelve): Mobile Optimization

What you should consider: Optimize Salesforce for mobile use, allowing sales teams to access critical information on the go and respond faster to customer needs.

What you should evaluate: Estimate time savings for sales reps accessing information on the go. Consider the potential increase in responsiveness to customer needs.

Annualized cost savings (est. based on 30 users): $10,000.

How I would approach Day Seven and Mobile:

“But wait, I don’t care about this one. We’re not a mobile organization.”

We are all mobile. All. The. Time. Here’s the rub: being at least mobile-friendly with Salesforce is pretty easy to include in your offering. Every page layout can be configured for mobile, so add the mobile layout to your plan by default.

Planning for mobile is pretty straightforward. Ignore tasks that really require a desktop, such as analyzing complex analytics, but make it simple to do remote things, such as log a meeting with a client or prospect.

Also consider some of the native capabilities of a mobile phone, such as capturing pictures of inventory, a site, or some physical issue. As an example, I had a customer whose sales team would use their phones to take post-call notes — even in the office — because of the dictation. It was easier for those less comfortable typing quickly, and the bonus was note taking was simplified while mobile, too.

The Bottom Line:

You can absolutely ignore mobile, and that might suit you and your business. Taking some time to consider the possibilities, on the other hand, might open some very remote doors to let opportunity through.
