Beat the Heat with Portable AC Units

My wife, kids, and I have lived in some HOT apartments — it’s like they were designed to trap the heat! We’ve tried everything to cool the place down: opening windows, closing windows, fans, more fans, water based fans, fans blowing on ice…

But the only thing that worked was a portable A/C unit. It was a miracle — a cold apartment for just a couple hundred bucks! We were shocked we hadn’t bought one earlier.

As we’ve moved into bigger places, we’ve bought more and more and more. Now we have FIVE different portable A/Cs! Three LGs and two Black+Deckers.

Let me tell you the best: the Black + Decker BPACT14WT Portable Air Conditioner, 14,000 BTU. (referral link to Amazon)This thing costs $399 and can cool up to 600 square feet. We use it in our baby’s bedroom, which can get above 90 degrees, and it keeps the room at a cool 75.

We’ve tried the lower power one for $285, but getting the biggest is well worth the money. It’s only a 30% price difference, and a huge increase in quality of life. It can cool twice the area of the cheaper model. And even if you have a small place, it will cool the room in minutes, instead of hours.

It also functions as a fan and dehumidifier. I can’t recommend enough that you get one of these on 2-day Amazon Prime shipping ASAP. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DLPUWHQ/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B01DLPUWHQ&linkCode=as2&tag=knep09-20&linkId=c460837be0a91ee4eddbba34e946a621
