As promised, Activision and Treyarch have revealed more information about the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
We have collected the most interesting moments from the presentation below:
- The Black Ops 6 Campaign takes players to a new point in time — the early 1990s. The story, as expected, will be about a ‘global government conspiracy’ set against the backdrop of the Gulf War and the collapse of the USSR;
- Players will get to meet a number of familiar faces, including Frank Woods from Black Ops 2;
- The game will feature different types of missions — from stealth missions to dynamic firefights involving vehicles;
- 16 new maps will be available in multiplayer (at launch). Of these, 12 in 6v6 format only and 4 in 2v2 or 6v6 formats to choose from;
- The return of Round-Based Zombies mode, which will feature two brand new maps at launch;
- Black Ops 6 will feature a new omnimovement movement system. “For the first time ever, players can sprint, slide, and dive in any direction (forward, sidestepping, and backpedaling) and move like a true Black Ops action hero”. All movements are said to be smooth and realistic;
- The game will require a constant internet connection for all modes, including the single-player campaign. However, there is no need to subscribe to Game Pass Core or PlayStation Plus to play the campaign on consoles;
- Xbox Series and PS5 will feature split-screen mode (not available on Xbox One and PS4);
- The game will feature interface customisation;
- There will be no content transfer from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3 to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. One exception is the Woods Operator Pack for pre-ordering The Black Ops 6 Vault Edition.Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launches on PC, PlayStation and Xbox on 25 October.
