Dinner and a Movie Doesn’t Have to Be Boring: Theme Nights to the Rescue!

An impromptu “progressive brunch” kicked off one of our first dates. My partner and I biked around Manhattan, stopping for new-then bagel bombs, coffee, and many other bites I’ve since forgotten.

I’ve always applied that same zest to movie nights and dinner parties. A few select dinner-and-movie dates:

  • 🦞 Lobster Tales: lobster meal + “The Lobster” + lobster tail dessert
  • 🥩 Wolfing down Wall Street: steak dinner + “The Wolf of Wall Street” + strip club (we didn’t end up at the last place)
  • 🥪 Chef Cubanos: cuban sandwiches + “Chef” (though we could have sought out chocolate lava cake for dessert!)

This post seems silly with everything happening around COVID-19 and yet it seems necessary. Amidst the sorrow and self-isolation, fun dinner-movie combos can bring much-needed joy indoors. With that in mind, I brainstormed steaming food and streaming film pairings to inspire you.

What other deliciously entertaining duos come to mind?

This post is part of my WriteMarch series, a commitment to write daily for a month.
