Design better, or better design?

UI/UX has been shaping the world and is one of the most common terms to be found on the internet. The relation of design with UI/UX is a story which is read by all every day. Every single thing of this world talks about UI/UX.

Design has been one of the most controversial topics for every Brand. To make your Brand stand out of the competitors list it is important for you to have a design strategy as well.

Now the question rises is: Do you have to design better or have a “better design”?

There are two situations here.

Situation 1: Your Brand identity must have a design that represents your Brand. So if you are not able to attract visitors to your website than there is definitely something lacking in your brand presence online and the website UI/UX , hence you need better design.

Situation 2: Your brand identity is having good presence but you need to upgrade to a much better one in order to grab visitor’s attention and increase your reach so in that case, brands try to change their outlook in every 2–3 months gap. Hence that is a situation of “design better”.

• Brainstorming

There is no such scenario whose solution doesn’t lie in brainstorming. Brainstorming can get you real good ideas for a better implementation of any thought. It can also lead to good solutions or plans for future use. You can try maintaining a repository of all your brainstormed ideas for later use.

• Competitor analysis

Know what your competitors are doing. This helps you get some inspiration and better ideas, and don’t copy!

• Look for inspiration

This aligns to the “brainstorming” point. Keep looking for inspirations while you brainstorm and align your thoughts, this can help you do wonders with your initial designs.

• Feedback

Take feedback from the fellow creatives of your team or the online platforms such as Behance, Dribble etc. This will help you make your design better as you will be to see how people are reacting to it.

• Keep making it better

Try to make small changes to your design everyday, mix and match things you will be able to make improvements.

To make your designs move to the right direction you need to enhance your knowledge in the domain. Practice more and research more, follow some good sources to stay on track.

• Inspiration

Inspiration always helps you get better ideas, so if you are trying to create “better designs” you surely need to revive your thoughts with some good inspiration.

• Divide design and UX

Not every design has UX. User experience or UX is talked by a lot but done by a few. You really need to understand what UX is to do UX.

• Analysis

Analysis is the key to good decisions. You must analyze your current designs to implement a better version of it.

• Stay updated with trends

Stay updated with the trends in design field, what your fellow designers are doing, what are the latest tools and start implementing.
