Following last year’s success, last Friday we headed to Google UK headquarters to provide some tasty innovations from startups in occasion of Xooglers’ Europe Pitch Day 2018!

The room was packed with more than 90 of Europe’s top tech investors, while 20 tech startups (founded by ex-Google employees) coming from 11 different countries, went on stage (along us) to present their business.

For more information on the businesses that pitched, you can read Rune Bentien’s recap of the event here.

As part of our partnership with Google, this year again we brought in some of the most innovative UK food and drinks entrepreneurs to sample their amazing products at this event including nitro cold brew coffee from Artemis Brew, organic vegan sweets from Better Little Treats, kefir drinks from Bio-tiful Dairy, vegan gluten & dairy free energy balls from Go Faster Food, matcha green tea & plant milk from Matcha Works, gluten free macaroons from Nourish, and plantain chips from Purely.

The objective was dual:

  1. helping these food startups securing a listing at Google UK offices (through Compass Group) and the opportunity to get their products exposed to more than 4,000 googlers every day!
  2. Getting foodies to mingle with a very interesting crowd of techies, as we strongly believe that sparking these #techiesmeetfoodiescollaborations could encourage more techies to get behind food and contribute to creating the next generations of Foodtech companies. You can learn more our view on this issue here.

We also had the chance to go on stage ourselves to present some key facts about Foodtech, share the latest developments of our Global FoodTech Map and explain to tech investors why they should be interested and excited about FoodTech. Watch the full presentation below.

Looking forward to next year!
