RISE conference hardly needs an introduction, but if you have never hear of it, RISE is the biggest gathering of start-ups, entrepreneurs, investors, established tech brands, and tech thought-leaders in Asia.

Day 0 — The Night Summit

The 9th of July, the day we successfully finished the registration, brought us up to the "night summit". This was an amazing place to meet the other startups teams, media and investors who would all mingle amongst each other.

We met up with some great people, some from AI projects, some old friends from the media, potential investors and one representative from Baidu's investment department.

Day 1 — A Wave of people

The 10th of July, the day that RISE opens its doors for visitors. This was the first of what would become an extremely couple of busy days.

To start off, our booth couldn't have been in a better place. Situated right at the entrance, we had people visiting our booth non stop. With over 17.000 people attending, you can easily understand how we were on a continues networking/pitching spree!

Our neighbouring booth "Design Nation" was also working on an interesting concept and after a short while we found some grounds on how we could help each other. What was interesting was how one company, called "Kintohub" had a competition to see who could do their onboarding the fastest, with the participants' time displayed on a board and a prize attached to the fastest participant. Clever way of getting people engaged and excited to do your onboarding!

We had a great first day and after running out of MDL T-shirts and Fans, the MDL Talent Hub team was happy to call the MDL booth at RISE a great success.

Day 2 — Interviewing Miss Yeah!

After the first day had ended, we had a clear idea of where to find the people we wanted to approach. This meant that we were actively talking to investors ("The Nest"), potential partners, attending pitches & we had a very interesting interview lined up with "Miss Yeah". [Read] and we got asked for an interview by with Australian media channel Beach City

After our interview with Miss Yeah, we went to visit all the remaining interesting booths, listened to the pitch-semi finals and headed back for dinner and a rest before the 3rd and final day of our RISE Conf experience.

Day 3 — Winding down from the Hong Kong buzz

Today was a calmer day and we got to see Miss Yeah give her presentation center stage. It was also the day that we got interviewed by Beach City. After meeting up with a few startups and taking some selfies with the CEO of MamaHelper, an app that allows you to easily find people that can help around the house, we called it a day and packed our things to head home.

A tired but happy MDL Talent Hub Team!
