The power to reach our clients when they are searching for the services we offer is probably the most powerful business marketing tactic that we come across — Google PPC Advertising!

But, effective keyword research and bid adjustment play a big role in the success or failure of our campaigns. Here I share free essential keyword research techniques and tool that you can use to make your Google Ads Campaigns more effective:

Answer the Public

answerthepublic.com

Answer the public is one of the most robust tools for keyword research. Let’s take a look at how this tool works through an example:

I go to the website and type the keyword “Hotels in New York”

Now, the site returns data represented in visual formats:

Presentation of all questions searched on Google regarding Hotels in New York:

This tool arranges all the available keywords on the basis of ‘Where’, ‘are’, ‘when’, ‘which’, ‘will’, ‘how’, ‘can’, ‘how’, ‘can’ and ‘who’. This is helpful for understanding what questions are people having about that particular keyword which can be helpful for understanding how the market works and help you better to the needs of your audience by doing this research for your niche. But, there’s more.

On scrolling further, all the related key phrases having prepositions are shown in a similar visual format:

This has all the key phrases being searched on Google which contain phrases like ‘near’, ‘for’, ‘without’, ‘with’, ‘can’ and ‘for’. It is helpful if you provide certain services which people might look out for specifically. This helps you target your Google Ads to people who might be searching for the services you already offer but don’t explicitly mention and makes you more aware of different search queries people might have for same needs. But, there’s more.

On scrolling further, you can see all the key phrases of ‘Comparative’ nature arranged in yet again a similar visual pattern:

Here all search queries having comparative dimension like ‘vs’, ‘versus’, ‘or’, ‘like’ and ‘and’ are available which allows you to find more related keywords for your Google Ads Campaigns. It gives you more ideas to work with and generate longtail keywords to help you make better Google Ads Campaigns. But, that’s not all.

On scrolling further, we see that it has arranged all the search terms related our Keyword in alphabetical order:

This feature is what makes this keyword research tool incredibly powerful in my opinion. The ability to find all the long tail keywords, especially if you are looking to Manually Bid for your campaigns is especially helpful in getting lower CPC and higher Conversion rate.
