MetaChess in 2021: A Year in Review & Our Outlook for 2022

First, let us at MetaChess wish everyone in our community a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year. We truly appreciate all the support you provide us. We couldn’t take chess into the metaverse without our wonderful community.

At MetaChess, it’s been quite the year, as we attempt to give the world’s oldest game a facelift. Over the past few months, we’ve made a lot of progress, especially when it comes to solidifying our platform features and building our community.

Let’s reflect on 2021 and take a look at where we’re going in 2022.

The Relaunch of MetaChess

MetaChess has been a dream of ours for years. That dream was revitalized when we relaunched the project in October 2021. We’ve made a lot of progress since then, and we’re extremely optimistic about 2022.

After the relaunch, as a show of support to our long-time supporters, we enabled old airdrop recipients to send back their CHESS tokens in exchange for our new SHAH tokens.

As a way to grow our community and reward longtime supporters, we also held a holiday contest with a prize pool of $3,500 worth of SHAH tokens. 200 winners will receive SHAH tokens soon.

This has all created a ton of momentum. We’ve seen the excitement on social media. Our Telegram group is very active, with now more than 2,400 members. We’re about to eclipse 3,000 followers on Twitter.

The Rebrand from BrainiacChess to MetaChess

In mid-December, we rebranded to MetaChess. This represented a big and important shift for our brand, as we want to show the world we’re more than just a chess platform. We’re taking chess into the metaverse!

As we stated in our announcement, “while we liked being Brainiac, we’re bringing chess to the blockchain and metaverse. Considering the direction of crypto, now’s the perfect time for the name. MetaChess makes perfect sense for us.”

As part of the rebrand, our ticker changed from BRAIN to SHAH. Soon, we hope your wallets are full of SHAH tokens as you use our platform to learn and play chess, collect NFTs, earn money and more.

The Launch of Our NFTs — They’re Now Available for Minting!

During 2021 we deployed our NFT contract. Our collection of NFTs includes traditional 2D assets, as well as stunning 3D assets. The Warfront NFTs are particularly eye-catching.

We’ve Designed a One-of-a-Kind Chess Metaverse

The last month of 2021 also saw a lot of exciting developments for our platform. We now have a clear vision for the MetaChess platform.

First, there will be three interfaces:

2D Interface: This version is live to play on the platform. It’s the classic version of chess developed for players that want to keep it simple.
3D Interface: This is the classic chess game displayed in 3D mode.
MetaChess WarFront: This is the most interesting part of the MetaChess platform. The Warfront displays human characters and different battle modes in 3D. The warfront version tells a story of some formidable soldiers that came together to defend their territory from invaders.

The MetaChess platform will have a variety of game modes, such as the Digging Quest Mode, where you can dig for treasures on a chessboard. Other fun game modes include Captivity Mode, where you capture opponents and have them perform tasks for you. In Overkill Mode, you’ll be able to make 2 consecutive moves. How cool is that?

Within the MetaChess universe, there will also be ways to monetize your love for chess like never before, including:

Learn-to-earn: Earn rewards in the form of NFTs/tokens by completing puzzles
Rent-to-earn: Earn passive income by renting out in-game assets to other players
Compete-to-earn: Earn rewards by participating in tournaments and competing with other players
Dig-to-earn: Players can dig up treasures in the form of tokens or NFTs
Coach-to-earn: Players can coach other players and get paid.
Stake-to-earn: Stake SHAH token to get rewards in BNB and SHAH tokens
NFTs: Allows for artist work to be traded and/or increase in value

To improve the financial sustainability of the platform, we’re also building strategies to bring in revenue for MetaChess. This will support the development of our chess metaverse. Revenue streams include advertising, land sales, and exclusive game mode purchases.

Altogether, the platform’s economy and gameplay have been solidified. We’re now constructing the MetaChess universe. The final results should be amazing.

What’s Ahead in 2022 for MetaChess

2022 is set to be a year with numerous important milestones, notably:

Our fundraising rounds (seed, private and public sales)
A DEX listing in January 2022
Online tournaments beginning in February
The launch of Warfront Beta in March
Introduction of exclusive game modes from March — Q3 2022

We’ll also be creating exclusive NFTs. In Q3 2022, we’ll partner with top artists to produce exclusive NFTs. We expect high demand for these collectibles, so pay attention to when these NFTs launch.

About MetaChess:

MetaChess is the first 3D multiplayer play-to-earn (P2E) and NFT metaverse chess game. The platform is in 2D and 3D. The 3D version will be divided into two. The first part is the regular chess game, with traditional chess pieces in 3D. The second part is more animated and fancy. It consists of chess pieces in the form of humanoid characters. You can own NFTs (unique chess pieces) which will be used in the game. The platform also has play-to-earn (P2E) models that make it worth players’ time. The 2D version is currently playable. You can either play with AI or play with another user.
