MetaChess Monthly Recap — March in Review

MetaChess had an eventful March, including getting more features in the chess metaverse.

Hello MetaChess community, we hope you’re all well!

A lot happened in March, and we know our community has questions about what’s next. Let’s do a short recap and discuss the month ahead.

1. The Presales

As you may know, we held several presales during March. You can read about them all in this article. We had some successful presale rounds, and are quite happy with the support we’ve received from investors and the community.

However, due to internal challenges, we couldn’t hold the $SHAH TGE on April 1st as planned. The new date is April 26th.

Since we couldn’t launch in time, we felt it unfair to our community and investors to withhold their funds. In a meeting with the launchpads, we’ve arranged a refund of all the funds invested so far and will also be postponing the remaining launches on IotexPad and NFTpad.

The new IDO dates are just around the corner and we will soon publish an article detailing what the next steps will be for MetaChess. So, stay tuned for that!

This was not an easy decision, and we know some in our community may have concerns. We do feel this decision is the right one and is in the best long-term interest of MetaChess, our community, and our investors.

2. New features

At the start of March, we added new features to our platform and made improvements to existing ones.

Spectate Feature: Watch others and learn or just have fun viewing.
Replay Feature: We added “previous” and “next” buttons.
Fixed UX/UI issues
Launch of Treasure Quest, a new game mode
Player performance stats with ELO rating
Customizable profile

3. Partnerships & Launchpad Sales

On March 7th, we entered a partnership with CapitalDAO. with CapitalDAO becoming investors in our platform.

We also partnered with NFTPad as one of our launchpads for our IDO (which we’ve had to delay to improve our platform even further). We also plan to hold IDOs on IotexPad, another launchpad partner, and TrustPad, a well-known launchpad that’s successfully launched many projects recently.

Note there was a scam going around using MetaChess and TrustPad names. Stay alert and know announcements will only come through official channels.

During March, we partnered with other blockchain projects as well, Penguin Karts. With Penguin Karts, a battle-racing play-to-earn game, we’ll cross-promote our games and help each other achieve the most possible success in the play-to-earn universe. As you can see, we’ve diversified our partnerships. We believe that’s a good strategy for success (and we think we know a thing or two about strategy being that we’re all about chess).

4. AMAs & Contests

During March, we accelerated our marketing and community activity, continuing with contests and external outreach. Our CEO Jephthah held 3 AMAs:

Our Territorial Contest has ended and we had over 5.3 million entries! The lucky 500 winners will be announced shortly. We expect to have another contest or tournament soon, so stay tuned.

5. The Game

As far as the game itself goes, most notably in the Warfront mode, we had a few developments.

About MetaChess

MetaChess is the first 3D multiplayer play-to-earn (P2E) and NFT metaverse chess game. The platform is in 2D and 3D. The 3D version will be divided into two. The first part is the regular chess game, with traditional chess pieces in 3D. The second part is more animated and fancy. It consists of chess pieces in the form of humanoid characters. You can own NFTs (unique chess pieces) which will be used in the game. The platform also has play-to-earn (P2E) models that make it worth players’ time. The 2D version is currently playable. You can either play with AI or play with another user.
