Like I mentioned in my Cisco Connect Raleigh blog, for many years I have been curious about Cisco Connect events. I wondered if they were opportune learning experiences like a mini Cisco Live? Or more like an expanded regional Cisco User meetup where you can network with other Cisco technology enthusiasts? To my delight, I was correct on both fronts.

During March I finally get a chance to attend … three of them in fact! And if you’re attending the Cisco Connect events in Raleigh, Charlotte or Virginia Beach, let’s connect!

For one-day events, the agendas are packed with Cisco experts sharing product information, case studies, and technology on the horizon. If you are like most Cisco fans, you’re not always able to attend the ultimate Cisco event — Cisco Live! If this includes you, then you’ve got to attend a local Cisco Connect event.

Next up is Cisco Connect Virginia Beach scheduled for Thursday, March 5 at the Virginia Beach Convention Center. Here are some of the 20 sessions to be held that day:

Cisco Connect Virginia Beach kicks off with a keynote at 8:15 am and ends with closing remarks and the Sponsor Challenge raffle from event sponsors at 3:45 pm. The item Skyline-ATS donated for the Sponsor Challenge raffle is pretty cool if I say so myself, especially if you are a fan of LEGOs and Star Wars. So be sure to down load the event app and scan those QR codes to make the leaderboard.

Enterprise Networking Track

Enterprise Networking fans will have four sessions throughout the one-day Cisco Connect Virginia event dedicated to the topic. At 9:15 am there’s a session entitled “Securely Connect and Optimize Application Experiences.” At 10:45 am attendees can listen in on “Reinventing Access for the Future.” At 1 pm you can attend “Cisco DNA: Your Bridge to an Intent-Based Network,” and at 2:30 pm to end the day is “Transform Your Network With End-To-End Expert Guidance.”

Security Track

Cisco Connect Virginia Beach focuses four sessions on security topics. Those include at 9:15 am “NGFW Best Practices and What’s New,” and at 10:45 am “Simplify LAN Segmentation with ISE and DNA Center.” In the afternoon at 1 pm you can attend “Stealthwatch in the Enterprise and in the Cloud,” and to close out the day at 2:30 pm “Cloud-Managed Security for Distributed Networks.”

Data Center Track

Data center sessions scheduled for Cisco Connect Virginia Beach include at 9:15 am “Borderless Data Center,” and at 10:45 am a session entitled “Managing Your Compute and Storage Environment.” In the afternoon, data center sessions scheduled at 1 pm include “IT Modernization with a Cisco-Powerd Private Cloud” and 2:30 pm on “A Multi-Cloud Segmentation Journey with Tetration.”

Collaboration Track

Cisco Connect Virginia Beach will also feature four sessions on collaboration starting at 9:15 am with “Planning Your Calling Journey,” and continuing at 10:45 am with “Customizing your In-room Video Experience.” In the afternoon collaboration enthusiasts can look forward to the 1 pm session on “Driving the Future of Meetings,” and finish up the day at 2:30 pm with “Cisco Webex Contact Center.”

The Virginia Beach Convention Center offers free parking. Skyline ATS will be exhibiting that day in the World of Solutions section. We invite you to stop by to learn more about our Cisco training and IT solutions. We also encourage attendees to participate in our Cisco Connect course giveaway.
