ABW Grant

This is my 1st post from AWS re:Invent 2023. You can find the others here — the 2nd post and the 3rd post.

I was privileged to join AWS re:Invent 2023 in Las Vegas as a recipient of the ABW Grant. Before I go ahead to share my experience, I want to extend my sincere appreciation to the Inclusion, Diversity & Equity Team at Amazon Web Services (AWS) and this year’s sponsor, Mission Cloud for the great initiative — the All Builders Welcome Grant. Special thanks to all members of the ABW Grant Team, 🌍 Norma Stevens 🌟 Jessica Gulledge, and 🚀 De’Rell Bonner, M.Ed. The support from the team was certainly phenomenal; from facilitating a very seamless journey to fostering connections, it’s simply amazing. Thank you, Jessica, Norma, De’Rell, and the entire team; your investment in this project, the ABW grant, will definitely see ripple effects of endless and ceaseless opportunities for myself and for other grant recipients.

At AWS re:Invent 2023 , I had the honor of meeting brilliant individuals doing amazing things (when I say amazing, I mean A-M-A-Z-I-N-G, yes, every letter counts). I was privileged to meet a segment of the AWS Certification and Training Team who serve as the bedrock (see what I did there; go check out Bedrock if you haven’t already) for anyone looking to get started in AWS. I met some all-stars in the AWS Training & Certification team like Aaron Hunter, Alan Meridian, Darko Mesaroš, Sammy Cheung, John Krull, and Prasad Rao. 🌞

All-Star Trainers

Every encounter created a truly lasting impression, and I look forward to sharing some insights I picked up during the conference later on. Also, a special thanks to Chandradeo Arya for encouraging me to apply for the ABW Grant.
