Ng-Cruise Presented by Ng-Conf — An Overview

Picture a multi-day conference hosted in the Caribbean paired with warm, sunny weather and Angular focused education, peers, and influencers at your fingertips.

For the first time in ng-conf history, we bring you 3.5 days of Angular education and 3.5 days of Angular bonding adventures along white sandy beaches in the Caribbean from May 29, 2017 — June 2, 2017. The conference will be followed by optional workshops on Saturday June 3, 2017 in the heart of Miami, Florida. Sound like an event you would like to bring your team on? Join us for ng-cruise!

With the recent release of Angular 2, there is an increasing amount of new content to explore and learn. New changes are being implemented, best practices are being solidified, and experiments on how to best utilize Angular 2 are being taught.

Upon boarding the cruise ship, we’ll launch into our keynote session where Jeff Cross and Victor Savkin will update us on what’s new in Angular 2. The evening will be filled with unconference sessions focused on new Angular 2 paradigms and hands-on workshops.

The ship is yours to explore and hang out with your fellow attendees. All food is included in your cruise price, excluding drinks.

Tuesday is our main conference day, but there will be talks every day as well as unconference sessions littered throughout the entire cruise! With talks on Angular’s mobile strategy and implementation, Angular-CLI, RxJS, component architecture, CSS, and more, make sure to check out for the first round of announced speakers here, including Mike Brocchi, Ben Lesh, Aaron Frost, Alyssa Nicoll, and more. Keep a lookout for more announced on our twitter @ngcruise.

We Take Code of Conduct Very Seriously

Throughout the entire duration of ng-cruise, including free time on the boat, on-shore, and at official conference events, we require all guests adhere to our code of conduct. This means it would not be smart to get inebriated, harass anyone, or behave in any manner that you would not at work. We want ng-cruise to be a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone.

The ship has agreed to enforce our code of conduct, and anyone who we deem threatening the safety of our conference attendees will be escorted off the ship at the next dock and will be 100% responsible for transportation back to Miami with no renumeration from ng-cruise. Make sure to read our code of conduct before purchasing your tickets, since it does have a lot of important info.

Another important note — anyone who violates our code of conduct will be reported to the Angular team and all other Angular conferences, and may be banned from these events at the discretion of the conference organizers and the Angular team.

Is Ng-Cruise a Party Boat?

Party boat? Not really. The ng-conf/ng-cruise organizers believe in creating an experience conducive to learning and enjoyment, not partying and hangovers. So, don’t expect wild pool parties! Expect nice lounges full of jazz and blues, great musical shows and entertainment on board, coursed meals served on white linen tablecloths, and an environment conducive to learning and networking.

We can promise there will be a wonderful mix of fun and education on ng-cruise. There will be programmed conference talks every day, and many awesome activities either on the ship or on shore. Make sure to bring your love of Angular along with you!

Why This Cruise Ship is Awesome

The ship we will be on is called Enchantment of the Seas. It’s part of the Royal Caribbean UK Cruise company.

There are several pools and whirlpools (family friendly and adult only), a full spa, rock climbing, a track, bungee trampoline, shops, amazing restaurants, and even an atrium! The ship also has a wide range of things to keep the kids entertained!

Bringing the Family

Speaking of kids, not sure what your partner and/or kids will be doing while you’re enjoying your time in the Bahamas? Bring them along! If you have questions, you can always email us howdy@ngcruise.com for cruise and accommodation questions. You don’t have to pay for the conference for others if those that you bring won’t be attending the workshops and talks.

Day 2 of Ng-Cruise

The ship will be docked in Nassau, home to the world famous Atlantis Resort along with many other amazing things to do. We will have a few excursions planned, to be announced shortly.

Make sure to check out the not-so-lazy lazy river and waterslides at Atlantis. It’s open to the public, as well as the guests of the resort.

Day 3 of Ng-Cruise

Wednesday, we will be in CocoCay, a private island in the Bahamas. Here’s are a few recommended activities by Royal Caribbean for our time there. Though there will be conference talks on Wednesday, you’ll have plenty of time to explore.

Day 4 of Ng-Cruise

Finally, when Thursday rolls around, we’ll sail into Key West. After some Angular learning aboard the ship, you’ll be able to take in the eclectic southernmost city of the US and pack in as much of what the Enchantment of the Seas has to offer in the evening before we return to Miami on Friday morning.
