Asian spices

I always noticed, that there is a large number of spices used in Asian dishes which obviously provide delightful flavors and aroma, but are there any benefits of using them!? I hope I’m not the only one who thought about the reasons for their existence and advantages.
So, here I’m sharing just five of them for you now.

  1. Cardamom

This spice has long been valued medicinally for its ability to increase circulation and improve energy, treats bad breath, improves asthma and bronchitis. It’s also an excellent source of fiber, so it facilitates digestion, thus preventing constipation, the feeling of bloating and facilitating weight loss.

2. Cinnamon

This spice is a rich source of antioxidants, has anti-inflammatory properties, eases digestion, and reduces both sugar and cholesterol levels in the blood. It also helps stimulate blood flow and is a proven herbal remedy for poor circulation.

3. Cloves

The active compounds in clove lend it a variety of anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. It has some anti-inflammatory effects. Clove oil has been globally used for treating and curing toothache. In cosmetic uses, clove is found in kinds of toothpaste, soaps, and perfumes. Indian healers have used the oils, flower buds, and stems from the plant in an array of medicine. Clove oil can also help with stomach issues like gas, diarrhea, nausea and upset stomach.

4. Cumin seeds

As a traditional herbal remedy, it helps relieve diarrhea and morning sickness. The antiseptic properties of cumin can help fight the flu by boosting your immune system. It also helps against indigestion and nausea, besides providing a good amount of iron. It reduces stress and is good for weight loss.

5. Turmeric

This bright yellow spice has many medicinal properties. It is rich in antioxidants and it may help in the fight against cancer. Studies show that it may help prevent Alzheimer’s disease and joint inflammation. It also minimizes liver damage caused by taking excessive alcohol consumption or regular use of painkillers.

Turmeric (Also known as Haldi in Urdu language)
