Get Busy Living or Get Busy Dying

You Have a Choice

You can’t control what is outside your control.

You may not know how things will turn out or if you can determine the outcome.

But you can control your mind. Even if your thinking seems delusional to reality, you have the choice to believe you can do what you want.

You can have hope when there is no hope, you can build mental fortitude and emotional resilience even if you are now weak, you can learn a new subject even if you know nothing about it now.

On the other hand, you can accept your lot. You can let your past determine your future. You can be “realistic”, “practical”, “smart”.

But if accepting your lot feels like death, then how is it any different than actually being dead?

Be Delusional

When considering your negative thoughts or your lack of hope, ask yourself, “Is this true?”. If it’s not, then forget the thought and move forward in the confidence of your competence. If it is true, then ask yourself, “Does it serve me to think this way?”

Andy knew he was in prison, but he decided that accepting his lot didn’t serve him.

Red knew he was in prison, and he decided that was the end of it…until of course, he didn’t.

No matter your current reality, you have two choices: Get busy living or get busy dying.

That’s goddamn right.
