Data Updates

As of Wednesday, October 2, 2019, 9:15 am PST — [Time of writing.]

Masternodes Online → 634
Current Block Height → 521116
Next Superblock → 561600
Total Budget → 108,000 Ø (ODIN Coin)
Allocated → 108,000 Ø (100%)

100% of October’s Superblock fund has been allocated. This does not mean you cannot put forth a proposal. Quite the contrary in fact, as the budget is allocated; this creates competition amongst projects vying for the ODIN in exchange for their development.

If your idea is found to be more appealing than current developmental proposals and in turn receives more votes than existing proposals you can supersede theirs, resulting in your project being funded in place of theirs.

Overall, this is great for the ODIN ecosphere as more and more developmental efforts are being put forth, causing a naturally competitive environment that you, the participant in the space, will benefit from.

Every week, thanks to ODIN’s Superblock funding, ODIN Society member, Christopher Reeder aka Nondescript writes articles informing both current and prospective community members about ODIN tech and general ongoings. Here is an article previously published:

500 Words On: What Status as an official United Kingdom Cooperative Organization Could Mean for ODIN.

Here’s an excerpt from that article:

Registering as an official United Kingdom Cooperative organization, while maintaining ODIN Society allows for benefits similar to those bestowed upon an LLC. These may include but are not limited to: access to business banking accounts, limited liability, protection of individuals, etc.

Access to a bevy of benefits provided by the United Kingdom network of cooperatives including potential grants and funding that can then be used for development, marketing, and the likes.

ODIN Implements SegWit — Let’s Talk About What That Means

Here’s an excerpt from that article:

When considering consensus algorithms like that of ODIN’s, as transaction size increases, the signature hash required would scale quadratically rather than linearly in some instances. This increases transaction time, sometimes as much as to three minutes for maliciously edited transaction IDs — this means safer transactions from large scale investors and payments to mining pools and the like. All in all, scaling quadratically means longer transaction verification times. Which, frankly, no one wants. SegWit solves that.

Chicago’s — The Voice of Blockchain Conference

ODIN Society Standing Chairperson, Vaughn Bullock Presented Alongside Monero at The Voice of Blockchain this past week.

While we have previously announced the exciting news of Vaughn [Pixxl] presenting alongside Monero and Electric Coin Company on a privacy-focused panel, we would like to share that the conference went very well and a comprehensive write up on the ongoings of the event is in the works. The publication of this write up should be in the next week or so.
