The Chase.
Several terrible scoundrels followed Greta immediately. Evilin did not give them any particular command, but they saw her disappointment and could not miss the opportunity to serve, getting rid of the naughty girl before the revenge.
Greta went outside and decided to walk around the noisy city, she didn’t suspect anything. Passers-by noticed her, they were turning around, pointing at her and whispering between each other — gossips about the girl who challenged Evilin quickly spread around the city. Some of the citizens were waiving their hands or raising their wings, greeting the hero. Firstly, the small girl answered them the same way, but it was embarrassing for her to be in the spotlight, so she stopped.
Greta didn’t know that someone was following her, so she made a decision to turn to a tiny quiet street, far away from the crowd. The pawns of Evilin immediately decided to use this opportunity. At that very moment, another shadow appeared on the street. Moving on the other side of the street from the pursuers, the shadow grabbed Greta’s hand and brought her into the alley, where Evilin’s servants could not find them.
That was a dwarf. He made the sign for the girl to be quiet and gestured: ”follow me”.
They were moving very fast and took a short break soon. During this respite, a random citizen noticed them and shouted: “Watch everyone! This famous girl is here!” Several windows opened in the neighboring houses, so Greta and her new friend had to move on urgently — Evilin had a lot of ears and eyes in this city.
Greta and the dwarf ran away to another part of the city, far from the Club 721, but the chase was not over. There was a car of Greta’s new friend waiting for them, they quickly jumped inside and rushed away from the city. It’s a strange thing — there was clearly another island around them, not the one where Greta arrived during the day. There were many hills and mountains, the road wailed around them.
Finely the dwarf broke the silence.
⁃ My name is Jackson. We are on another island. RMRK City is a dispersed city. You are in the same city but on the different islands at the same time. It works as if there were invisible portals between the districts of this city. While you’re inside, you move only in the megapolis, but if you go outside, you will find yourself in a different parts of the universe.
He continued talking something about Klein bottle, about how to get out of the city from the interior of RMRK City, but Greta didn’t listen to him. She was impressed by the possibilities of the Skybreach universe — magical artifacts and ordinary objects existed next to the curvature of space and time, and ordinary people lived next to chunkies and birds and dwarfs.
The servants of Evilin’s still rushed after Greta and Jackson. In the light of the Waxing Gibbous Moon, they were perfectly visible. Jackson squeezed maximum out of the car, and at one of the turns it skidded. The vehicle rolled down, turning over to the roof and back. The car was falling down so long and scary… The pursuers came up when the crashed car fell into a deep canyon at the foot of the hill.
One of the pursuers wanted to check if Greta is still alive, but another stopped him: “No, It is impossible to survive in such a terrible catastrophe. Time to get out of here.”
Mood: action. Someone told me, that this episode differs from all other: it’s much more an action movie than a magic tale. Let it be — my 6 year old son was really excited. By the way the name of a dwarf was chosen by him. Why not Jackson?
