The Crystal Cave
The darkness creeped out from the cavern entrance, iridescent stalagmites scattered throughout the ever-expanding rooms within the cave. Neon blue crystals were glowing all over the cavern walls, enticing explorers to roam deeper.
Greta, gently walked down, until she got went to the very bottom. She found an old lamp in the middle of the hall, the same as one Arab young man had found. Then everything happened as in a famous fairytale — the girl grabbed the lamp and cleaned it with her violet cape. There was a cracking sound, and Kanaria flew out with massive amounts of smoke billowing from the lamp’s spout. It wasn’t an ordinary bird, it was a gin!
Greta used to unexpected and unusual things in Skybreach, but here she exclaimed:
⁃ Who are you, where did you come from?
⁃ I’m just a glitch, an inverted print on the stamp. It seems like I was made of crystals, the same crystals are everywhere in this cave. The creators who gave me Crystal Full Set replaced my tail and paws with a gin body. I was hidden deep in a secret cave and I live in this lamp.
— I can fulfill your three wishes, — continued the bird, — but these are not just desires. The first wish must be about the past. You can’t change the course of the history, but you can fix something with my help. The second wish should concern the present, and the third wish should be for your future.
Greta thought about her past. There wasn’t much to remember. She remembered all her journey, there was nothing to change. The only sad thing she remembered was the fate of Sentimental Pirate. The little girl asked:
⁃ Dear Genie, could you help my friend Pirate start creating again to be happy?
⁃ Hmm…That’s interesting… — replied the bird. He twisted around and pulled a Paint Brush out of the lamp:
Kanaria gave to Greta the artefact, and added: “This brush will help your friend, but honestly, he doesn’t need it.”
Not fully understanding what does it mean, Greta suddenly realised that she had absolutely no idea how to get out of this cave and get the revenge, where she hoped to defeat Evilin.
— Dear Genie, could you help me to get out from this cave?
The citizen of the lamp was happy:
— You are smart girl! You have everything you need for this. I’ll also give you a hint that could help you with your second wish. The Blind Guardian guards the Crystal Cave. He won’t let you out, he can only let you in.
Greta was super confused. It all looked like an awful joke. The genie did nothing helpful for her. The girl sat down on the nearest crystal, putting a violet cape under her. She made a third wish:
— Dear Genie, I want to go back to the world where I was before Skybreach.
The bird spun around and yanked the Magical Notes from the spout of the lamp.
⁃ It will help you, but you still need… Wait, what is that?
Greta turned around and noticed that her cape began to absorb the glow of the crystals. She replied:
⁃ I found this cape near the place where I first woke up in this universe. It says ShiNED Cape.
⁃ Are you sure?
Greta took a cape (it was fully charged) and showed the tag to the bird. They noticed that the inscription had slowly changed to “Shiden Cape”.
⁃ Well, this is not a simple cape, — said Kanaria. — When it’s uncharged, it’s called Shined. But if you nourish it, it will have incredible power and will become Shiden Cape. Now you have everything to come back.
“Come back to move forward,” the prediction of the ball came to Greta’s mind. She stood up and went up the crystal stairs.
Mood: insightful. I hope to see some puzzles with cryptic clues in Skybreach. There should be more interesting things than just money or resources hunting.
By the way, Bird #3413 is a really unique one. Generator of the birds gave it Crystal Full Set, but after this its tail and feet were overlayed by a Gin Body 🧞♂️.
