The world of dew —
A world of dew it is indeed,
And yet, and yet . . .

Hey Everyone, I’m starting a new flash fiction collection/series around this poem:

Kobayashi Issa (1763–1828) a Japanese poet and lay buddhist priest wrote this poem after a series of tragic events (Losing his child and wife). His awareness of life’s finitude and the seeming meaningless of it all, is captured clearly through the word “Dew.”

But what inspires this series and hopefully the lives of those reading, is the “And yet, and yet…” Humanity, in the face of complete despair, seems to ache for and find hope and transcendence. What is the way through and beyond suffering? Each of these stories hope to unpack the many varieties of ‘And yet’s,’ that life provides. The question remains for us all… “And yet… what?”

Parabolical

Exploring absurdity to find reality. To be chewed not consumed. If the meaning seems obvious, read it again. Then discuss with friends or enemies.
