An MRI (Magnetic resonance imaging) is a medical imaging procedure, which creates detailed images of different organs and tissues. MRI is a non-invasive procedure used by doctors to detect various diseases and injuries. Aruna Diagnostics offers superior IN BORE MRI Scan in Hyderabad under the guidance of expert staff.

About MRI

MRI Scan develops high-resolution cross-sectional images using strong magnetic fields and radio waves. An MRI, often used for disease detection, diagnosis, and treatment monitoring. It helps to examine almost all body parts like the brain, spinal cord, breast, bones, joints, Heart, blood vessels, and many more. The best part of MRI is that it does not use harmful Ionizing radiation like CT Scan and X-Rays. MRI is a highly accurate and safe imaging procedure most suited in situations where frequent imaging is required.

How does an MRI work?

MRI scanner is a large tube-shaped machine surrounded by a giant circular magnet with a table attached in the center. During the MRI procedure, patients should lie on the table which slides into the scanner. In the scanning process, the magnetic field temporarily realigns water molecules in the body. Radio waves produce faint signals using these aligned atoms, further used to create cross-sectional MRI images. Patients should lie still without moving throughout the scanning process as movements can disrupt the images.

An MRI scan process takes around 30 minutes or more depending on the part of the body being scanned. During the process, the scanner makes loud clanging and tapping noises, and patients should wear earplugs given by the staff. Patients can communicate with the radiologist during the process if they feel uncomfortable at any point.

Claustrophobic patients feel uncomfortable inside the closed MRI scanner. Hence, doctors give them medication to keep them calm and stress-free during the scan. During a few scans, intravenous contrast liquid is given to the patients to improve the visibility of tissues.

Before going for the scan, patients should remove all the metallic objects they are wearing, like earrings, belts, or others.
