When you move to the new home, one of the most important things to consider is packing fragile items which include glass, fine china, and other breakable and valuable items. In order to secure these items in an ideal manner, people usually consider using bubble wrap, packing paper, newspapers and heavy boxes. Nevertheless, it is worth reading some tips to pack these fragile items before you start packing.

Appropriate packaging material

The safety of your fragile items during the move is going to depend hugely on the type of packaging material you are using. The reason is that you have to make sure that your fragile items are cushioned well. Proper cushioning can help them in absorbing sudden shocks which otherwise can lead the breakage of those items.

Moreover, you have to make sure that you are not putting keeping fragile and non-fragile items together. Movement of non-fragile items can lead the breakage in fragile items. You are going to need a lot of packaging supplies to keep the items safe in this regard. Some of the packaging supplies which you can use here are as under.

· Newspaper: Newspaper can be the best cushioning solution for your fragile items. The benefit of using newspaper is that it is readily available and, thus, you can find it in abundance even at your own home. You can use newspaper to fill entire empty space inside the boxes. However, newspaper is not the ideal material to cushion the electronic items.

· Bubble wrap: Although bubble wrap is not biodegradable, it is the best packaging material to keep your electronic items safe during a move. You can use a lot of it to secure your electronic items. Best thing about bubble wrap is that it can absorb a lot of pressure while keeping the electronic item packed inside safe.

· Packing peanuts: Although packing peanuts are not eco-friendly, these are the items which can fill up the space inside boxes in a way no other packaging material can. If you are concerned about the mess these peanuts can make, you can use biodegradable starch packing peanuts.

Keep weather in mind

Fragile items can also be volatile against severity of weather. So, you have to make sure that packing of these items can keep them safe from the weather impact. Again, it all comes down to the packaging supplies you are using. You have to make sure that packaging supplies you are using are not letting the weather impact to be transferred to the item. For instance, you can use bubble wrap to cushion the items if you think that rain can make a mess of the items you are moving.
