No to war. Freedom to political prisoners. Protests in Moscow, Feb 24th 2022. Fair use

Leaders have no power unless common folk follow them.

How can common folk defy autocratic leaders?

Hermann Goring, the right-hand henchman to Hitler, made this insightful statement about the relationship between leaders and people at the time of the Nuremberg trials and before his suicide.

Naturally, the common people don’t want war … but after all it is the leaders of a country who determine the policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in every country.

Fear-based propaganda evokes the flight, flight and freeze reflexes of our reptilian and amygdala brains: the mid-brain mindset of military metaphors. This mindset keeps us stuck in the survival, protective and combative mode of heightened nationalist belonging, to the detriment of world peace.

In so doing, we disable our creative neocortical brains to inspire high-order strategic thinking needed to mitigate against the reflex downsides of our mid-brain mindset.

How can naive common folk become informed proactive citizens to defy corrupt, incompetent and deranged leaders?

In short, we cannot entrust our leaders to end wars and ameliorate the threats of nuclear disasters. We are stuck living in ruts of military and sports metaphors. This sets up and perpetuates competitive, divisive, zero-sum, win-lose games and uncivil debates with no compromise, collaboration and co-operation. These divisive metaphors of dysfunctional polarizations are a recipe to sustain the never-ending history of reoccurring wars.

How can we:

  • Change the metaphors that we live by and liberate our entrapped mindsets?
  • Live by ecological, peace and music metaphors to set up inclusive, co-operative, win/win games and civil debates of compromise that involves working collaboratively for the commons and for the greater good?
  • De-invest from military spending and re-invest in education to understand, develop and evolve our brain functioning to higher levels of human consciousness needed to co-create peaceful, harmonious and high functioning civilizations?

We need to co-develop scalable, love-based lifelong intergenerational learning platforms that enable people to cultivate the deliberative responses of our neocortical brains: the executive mindsets of ecological, peace and music metaphors for co-creating a harmonious, fair and flourishing world.

Using our executive leadership skills, we engage in the spirits of equanimity, equity and egalitarianism to co-create an inclusive, educated and diverse global citizenry. This enables us to co-develop high-order strategic thinking to launch #EquityMoonshot: expand, open and align our mindsets to co-design and build an equitable, regenerative and sustainable future.

How can common folk defy Putin?

Protests are dramatic transient triggers that call for change. They are like sparks that ignite fires for burning down corrupt power structures. But autocracy rains down on protesters like torrents to put out fires.

The personal costs for brave Russian protesters is high.

We need an alternative approach to mobilize more citizens for peace. Common folk are peace-makers. They want to raise healthy families and not be sent off to their leaders’ war.

Sustained proactive passive resistance movements (#PPRM) have far greater potential to impact positive changes, because the risks are much smaller and their impacts are far greater than episodic protests. The NATO countries can role model how to initiate the #PPRM movement.

  • Imagine if all workers within NATO countries, except for those in essential services, going on a peace and hunger strike within their countries, along with local protest marches, on the same designated workday.

Invite all Russian citizens to strike at home, but not to protest on the streets, for an extended period of time.

  • Imagine the Russian people staying at home to disrupt the supply chains feeding their war machines.
  • Imagine the Russian army hosting a one-day cease-fire to support #PPRM
  • Imagine an international day for the #PPRM to topple dictators and autocratic leaders

How can we launch the #PPRM?

This calls on young people around the world launching the #PPRM on social media by inviting older generations to advocate for ending wars and ameliorating the risks of nuclear disasters.

In short, common folk have the power to dethrone corrupt politicians with asocial leadership personality disorder: pathological megalomania, narcissism, sociopathy and authoritarianism.

We need #PPRM to mass mobilize citizens to de-escalate the development of the military industrial complex. This is an essential step toward ending the risk of wars and nuclear disasters.

Will Zelinskyy invite:

  • Russian people to launch their own #PPRM?
  • Russian soldiers to defect with safe passage to NATO countries?

Zelinskyy’s appeals for a no-fly zone and NATO’s direct military involvement in Ukraine is unlikely unless there is a Russian transgression into any NATO country.

Putin will use the same tactics that he used to destroy Syria as he will in Ukraine. He used Syrian refugees as a destabilizing and disruptive force on Turkey and Europe. He will decimate enough infrastructure in Ukraine to maximize refugee migration into Europe.

Call-to-action

In the1964 Cuban nuclear weapon crisis, President Khrushchev withdrew nuclear missiles in Cuba in exchange for the secret US nuclear missile withdrawal from Turkey. This latter fact was not widely know to the public at that time.

NATO has no face-saving, side-ramp to rapidly de-escalate the Ukraine war.

The nuclear option is Putin’s trump card over NATO. NATO has no finesse options of a face-saving, side-ramp. Ukraine becomes the sacrificial pawn in the political war of chess, like what Neville Chamberlain did for Sudetenland in Czechoslovakia to appease Hitler in 1938 and delayed the onset of the war for one year.

Putin is a paranoid, dangerous and deranged animal trapped in the corner within his own cage of grandiose megalomania and self-righteous scorned narcissism that knows no bounds for retribution, revenge and consequence. His heightened state of nuclear alert is not an idle thought.

Only the Russian people can give Putin a side-ramp to Siberia, metaphorically speaking.

  • How can the hackers of the world promote the idea of the #PPRM, especially to the Russian people?

Re-share this #Ukraineblogvirus to launch #PPRM and help co-create a peaceful, harmonious, fair and flourishing future beyond our metaphorical imaginations.

Without a pragmatic dream of peace, there is no real hope to end any war.

What we need a mass movement of social and mainstream media to focus, align and amplify the #PPRM message needed to generate exponential impacts for peace and for the greater good. This is essential to co-create a new world order of people, by people and for the people. We have so far to go.

But if we all do a little, we can all do a lot.
