Keeping Your New Year Resolutions

It’s the end of January and were now entering February, this is the time where we see many people abandon our new year’s resolutions. But what if we need a little inspiration to get back on track with fulfilling our resolutions.

I will be discussing:

1. Re-Establish Your Why

2. Minimize Your Steps

3. Find Helpful Resources

And be sure to read my last blog on “Book Review: Get It All Done Today With Time Blocking” & “FREE Download: February 2020 Desktop Wallpapers”.

If I could some up this book into one word it would have to be the word Accomplished: achieving or completing successfully.

1. Re-Establish Your Why

Look back on why you truly wanted to change your life for the better and to improve. Find what is really holding you back, don’t just set a goal you should find true motivation from your purpose instead of superficial things.

When we set a goal we are often motivated by the end to result in our goal but when the end result starts to feel farther away than we thought we tend to lose our motivation. This is why it’s important that we set goals that are realistic and achievable so that your motivation will grow as life tries to deter you from getting to where you want to be.

2. Minimize Your Steps

Often times we give up on ourselves and our goals when things get overwhelming for us. During these times we should review our goals and find ways to make them smaller, by doing this our goals automatically seem less scary or challenging.

If you’re getting anxiety from even thinking of your goal you should ask yourself if you have too much on your plate. Recalibrate the day you thought this goal will be completed and give yourself a little bit of slack. As long as you are making progress you will be fine, set interim goals between your milestones.

3. Find Helpful Resources

If you have fallen off track with your progress to your goal, then this is the time where you should be searching for ways to recommit to your goals. Find a group of people who have the same goal as you, they can help to support you and also give you tips on what you may be struggling with.

Or you can even try to hire a life coach or mentor to help you stay accountable or give you a pep talk to reignite your motivation. No matter what your goal you can accomplish with the right support group and resources.
