Nintendo Switch 2 has Ray-Tracing and better clock speeds, claims podcast
When it comes to the leaks and rumors concerning the Nintendo Switch successor, the hits just keep coming and coming. This next source claims that the Switch 2 (working title) will have Ray-Tracing functionality, different clock speeds, and other advantages to its predecessor.
The new details were disclosed during the 255th episode of the Broken Silicon podcast on Moore’s Law is Dead’s YouTube channel. On the podcast, its host Tom with fellow YouTuber and systems engineer, The Phonx discussed some tech leaks including those on the Switch 2.
According to the details, the next-gen console will have ray-tracing functionality comparable to the Xbox Series S. It will also have a higher clock speed when docked but significantly lowered in handheld mode to save battery life. This last detail suggests that Nintendo is prioritizing battery life and a lower RPM fan.
The latest leak isn’t surprising considering ray-tracing functionality, higher clock speeds, and increased battery life have all persisted since the Switch 2 rumors started.
Other persisting features include backward compatibility, 4K resolution, magnetic Joy-Cons, a new kickstand, DLSS support, and more. Most of these were once again leaked by a Switch accessories manufacturer recently.
In related news, Microsoft released a survey hinting that the company could be preparing to launch an Xbox handheld soon.
