A tutorial to send and receive ATOM tokens from CEX using Keplr Wallet

Like it or not, crypto exchanges (CEX) are still the easiest way for new users in crypto to make deposits and trade tokens. But traders are also increasingly turning to decentralized exchanges (DEX) and they are already creating a major impact on the cryptocurrency market.

In this guide, we will show you how to send tokens from CEX account to Keplr and how to send them back. This is important as the first step to enter into the world of DeFi.

Set-up

1. Open account at crypto exchanges (for example Binance, Indodax, Tokocrypto, etc)
2. Create a Keplr wallet account (Keplr extension)

Send ATOM from CEX to Keplr Wallet

• Open Keplr extension
• To access the Cosmos Hub address, click on below the account name

Note: This tutorial is specifically for sending ATOM token (Cosmos Hub). Do not send other tokens from crypto exchanges to Keplr wallet (Cosmos Hub). Your token might be lost.

• Copy and paste this address from Keplr as the recipient when you withdraw ATOMS from a CEX account.

Note: Sending token to Keplr Wallet does not require a memo.

• After successfully sending your ATOMS to Keplr, you should see your available balance.

Note: If this is your first time sending tokens to Keplr Wallet, we suggest that you try first using a small amount.

Send ATOM from Keplr Wallet to CEX

• Open Keplr Extension and click Send

• Fill out all the required fields;

Recipient: The address you want to send tokens to

Token: Select the token that you’d like to send, in this case, ATOM

Amount: The amount you want to send with this transaction

Memo: Some exchanges require and provide a specific memo to recognize your account. This may apply to you, so please check carefully. If not, you can leave it blank.

Fee: You can choose to pay between Low, Average, or High fees, which can determine the order of processing of your transaction.

Note: Please double-check everything. Incorrect information may result in token loss.

• Once everything is in order, click Send
• After the transaction is confirmed, you should receive the ATOM balance in your CEX account.
