Have you heard that Medium has a new feature where you can add pronouns to your profile?

Medium has introduced a new feature that allows us to add pronouns to our profiles.

This is a great way to help everyone use the correct pronouns.

I tried it out, and it’s really helpful. I added “she and her” to my profile.

It makes it so much easier for people to know and use the right pronouns.

Maybe you would like to add it, but you don’t know how. I’ll show you how to set up your pronouns on your Medium profile. Here’s a simple guide

Step 1: Find the Settings

1. Go to the top right-hand corner of the Medium home page.
2. Click your profile picture.
3. In the dropdown menu, click on “Settings”.

Step 2: Go to Your Profile Information

1. In the Settings window, click on “Profile information”.
2. Here you can edit your photo, name, pronouns, short bio, and more.

Step 3: Pick Your Pronouns

1. In the new window that appears, look for the rectangular field under “Pronouns”.
2. Start typing in your pronouns. You can add up to four pronouns.
3. If you don’t see your pronouns, you can click “Suggest others” to request them.

For example, if you type “she,” you will see options like she, her, etc.

Why It Matters

Adding pronouns to your profile helps others address you correctly. It’s important because:

Some names are gender-neutral, and it’s not always clear which pronouns to use.

Not everyone uses a photo of their face, so you can’t always guess gender from a picture.

Using the correct pronouns makes interactions more respectful and pleasant.

Adding pronouns to your Medium profile is a simple but powerful way to show respect and clarity in our community.
