Warning: I’m not going to share some futuristic solution on how to solve the traffic problem. There will be no mention of flying 1-person cars or underground tubes through which we could zip up and down from San Francisco to Cupertino. Those will be the groundbreaking solutions and those solutions will hopefully become a reality sooner than later.

I’m proposing a more boring solution.

What if companies could setup 1 day a week where all of their employees could work from home?

Facebook employees could work from home on Mondays. Google employees could work form home on Tuesdays. Apple employees can work from home on Wednesdays. Salesforce & Oracle can take Thursdays and rest of us can work from home on Fridays.

We might be able to make our commutes 20% faster.*

*All companies in the Bay (beyond tech) would have to participate & somehow they’d all have to avoid “Tragedy of the commons.”
