Rishabh Pant — As easy as it gets!
Rishabh Pant officially made it “A dream return” to Test cricket with his fantastic hundred on his return to the red ball format. The batter was positive from his arrival at the crease and never showed any signs of discomfort batting in the middle.
The aggressive side of Pant was on display when he took on the opposition bowlers with ease and never had any second thoughts on lofting the opposition bowlers out of the ground. The southpaw showed positive signs in the first innings as well, however, missed out on converting his start to a big score. Pant didn’t make the same mistake in the second innings and made it rather visible with his approach that he was eyeing a big one.
The batter notched up his half century in the 44th over and was in the zone to not let go off the opportunity lying in front of him to make it a big one. Pant, who has had a fantastic career in Test matches, continued to play in his own style and played shots all around the ground while he steadily approached the three figure mark. He neared his century with a couple of boundaries, and then reached the landmark with a couple off the bowling of Shakib Al Hasan.
Pant with his sixth Test hundred also equalled MS Dhoni’s tally of hundreds in Test matches, and to make it even better the southpaw only took 58 innings to reach there. Pant has been phenomenal in this format and it would be really amazing to see him progress and play more memorable and dominant knocks in the coming future.
