How to Set Up Polygon Chain for SOS Weapon Holders
Hi sharks! As you probably all know, SOS Weapon, which will be used to claim SOS Meta ID (Pixel Shark) instantly in The Vault (opens this Dec 24, 2021), is using Polygon chain instead of Ethereum to avoid gas fee while airdropping / using the weapon.
So as The Vault is opening soon, we’d suggest for you to set up Polygon chain in your wallet beforehand as you will need to switch between networks when burning weapon (Polygon) and minting (Ethereum). And to make it easier, we’re preparing this tutorial for you.
To experience the claim process better, we recommend using MetaMask extension for desktop browser (either Google Chrome / Firefox / Safari) instead of mobile.
Okay, let’s get to it! First, you need to get your MetaMask extension ready in your desktop browser. If you don’t know how to do it, using your desktop browser, go to MetaMask official website and download it there.
Once you get it and logged in to your account, pin it on your browser and you’ll see this. Click on it.
After that, you’ll see on the top right by default Ethereum Mainnet as shown below. This is network switcher. Click on it.
If you never set up another network before, it will only show Ethereum Network there, and then you need to click Add Network.
Once you click Add Network, you’ll see this form and enter it with the information below.
Network Name: Polygon Mainnet
New RPC URL: https://polygon-rpc.com/
Chain ID: 137
Currency Symbol: MATIC
Block Explorer URL: https://polygonscan.com
Once you filled out those forms (as shown below), click Save button.
If it’s successful, then you’ll see the Polygon Mainnet up there on network switcher, and success notification. And that was it!
From now on, when you go to the extension again, you’ll see Polygon Mainnet there when you try to switch network.
Later on this will come in handy when The Vault is opening this Dec 24, 2021 as we will send $MATIC to your wallet for you to burn the weapon and claim SOS Meta ID!
