The Vault: How to Claim SOS Meta ID (Pixel Sharks)

Hi sharks! Since The Vault is just around the corner. We just want to share you everything you need to know about it.

Enter The Vault

When The Vault opens later in 24 Dec, 2021, all SOS NFT holders can visit https://vault.sharkoutlawsquad.com and you will be greeted with this screen.

Connect your wallet (make sure you use MetaMask browser on mobile / install the extension on desktop browser), and you’ll get inside The Vault, showing all of your sharks as shown below.

Claim SOS Meta ID “Without” Weapon

For the majority of sharks who don’t have any weapon. You will be required to wait for 30 days, from the day you start the claim process, until you can mint the SOS Meta ID. And here is how:

1. Click the “Claim” button

2. Start the Claim Process

After clicking the Claim button, a window will pop up letting you to initiate the 30-days claim process by clicking the button (as below).

3. Wait for 30 Days

Once you click the button, you will be redirected to the previous screen. But you will notice there will be a 30 days countdown timer below your SOS Meta ID, this means the process has been initiated. Just let it be, enjoy Christmas and the holidays, and go back to The Vault in 30 days.

P.S.: Make sure you still hold your SOS Genesis NFT with you when you come back to claim!

4. Go Back to The Vault (After 30 Days) & Mint

Assuming that you have already waited for 30-Days while keeping your SOS NFT safe in your wallet. Go back to The Vault, and you will notice that the button have changed to Mint Now.

Click the button, and you will be able to mint for FREE! (note: you will still need to pay the gas fee though).

You can then view it on OpenSea, or go back to The Vault to see your all the pixel sharks in your collection!

Claim SOS Meta ID “With” Weapon

If you are lucky enough to have weapon from our events / giveaways (or you can also purchase weapon from https://opensea.io/collection/sos-weapons), you will be able to skip the 30-days waiting process and mint for free instantly.

But it will require you to set up a Polygon Chain on your MetaMask browser. See: How to Set Up Polygon Chain for SOS Weapon Holders

The overall process is similar, but it requires a few extra steps to use the weapon.

1. Click the “Claim” button

2. Choose the Weapon

Choose 1 of the weapons you have (assuming you have multiple), and click Mint with Selected Weapon.

3. One-Time Approve

At this moment, you will be required to switch to Polygon Network that you previously configured in your MetaMask. There will be a mini guide here too to make it easier for everyone to change networks.

Click on the MetaMask browser extension, and click as shown below and change it to Polygon Mainnet.

If you don’t see that options, make sure you follow the step here: How to Set Up Polygon Chain for SOS Weapon Holders. You can also check tons of videos on YouTube on how to do it.

Once you switched to Polygon, you can then click Approve on the pop up box. You will only need to approve this once. You don’t need to do this again if you are trying to burn more weapons in the future.

Approval will require $MATIC which we will send to all wallets with weapon 1 / 2 days before The Vault opens. If you still don’t have $MATIC even though you own a weapon, you can submit a ticket on our Discord.

5. Step 1: Burn Your Weapon

Once approved, there are 2 steps that needs to be taken. The first one would be to burn your weapon, do so by clicking the button Start Burning.

Clicking it will also require a small amount of $MATIC. Click Confirm.

6. Step 2: Mint Your SOS Meta ID

Once you have burned your weapon, your wallet will be eligible to mint SOS Meta ID instantly! But, remember, as the SOS Meta ID is in the Ethereum chain, you will need to switch back to Ethereum.

Since you have experienced switching network previously, this one is also the same as the previous one. Just switch back to Ethereum Mainnet.

Once you switch back to Ethereum Mainnet, the button will be enabled for you to click. Click it to start the minting process for FREE (but make sure you have ETH there for the gas though).

And that’s it! Your SOS Meta ID will be there for you and you’ll see this if it’s successfully minted. And it will also be shown on your collection on home page.
