How To Add Your Fundraising Event to TikTok and Instagram

Using social media is a great way to hit your fundraising goals, but if people have trouble finding your fundraising page, they might give up and cause you to miss out on donations.

Let’s be honest, nobody likes searching for a link, so here are some tips you can use to help add your fundraiser event links to social media. The first section covers Instagram, and the second goes through TikTok.

Instagram:

Posting on Instagram about your fundraiser is one of the best ways to hit your goals. To get the most out of your posts, one of the best options is using Instagram’s “Stickers” to create clickable links in your stories. And the best part is it’s super easy to do!

First you’ll want to open Instagram and click in the top left corner to add a story. Choose a photo or video to add to the story, maybe a personal direct-to-camera video, or even a screenshot of your Aimly fundraising page.

Then you’ll click the “Sticker” icon at the top, which looks like a squarish-face to open up the display for stickers.

When the display pops up, you should see a little icon that says “Link.” When you click that it will open up a text box where you can paste the link to your Aimly fundraiser page.

Aimly now makes it easy for you to copy and paste your event link as well as share by email and SMS.

The last step is to personalize the link-text by clicking “Customize Link Text” below the URL. This will allow you to make your URL say something like “Aimly” or “Donate Here!” and make it extra clear to your friends and family where to click.

That’s it! Once you’ve added your clickable link to your story, make sure to keep updating it every day or two. Instagram stories expire after 24 hours, so with your weeklong fundraiser, you could potentially post seven times and give your fundraiser the best chance for success!

One last thing you’ll want to do is add a link to your fundraiser on your Instagram bio. Go to your profile page and click “Edit Profile.”

Then click the section “Links” directly under “Bio.” Paste or type your Aimly fundraiser link in there and people who go to your page will be able to click a link and donate!

TikTok:

Unfortunately, there isn’t a way to post a link onto your actual TikTok videos themselves, but don’t let that discourage you from linking your event through TikTok. The best way to add a link on TikTok is to post it in your bio. Then you can mention in a video how people can find the link to your Aimly event in your bio, that way people know where to find it.

The first step is going to your profile by opening TikTok and clicking the “Profile” button on the bottom right.

Once you’ve navigated to your profile, you’ll click the “Edit Profile” button at the top of the page.

The next step is clicking on the section called “Bio.” This will open up a text-box where you can edit the actual info in that section.

The last step is to copy and paste your GoAimly event page into the bio. The good thing about Aimly event links is that they’re pretty short, so even though people can’t click the link to open up a webpage, they’ll hopefully be able to easily type it into their browser.

Now if you want to make it super clear to people who might want to donate that they can find the link to your event in your bio, there’s one more useful trick. When you make your video telling people about your fundraiser, there’s an option to add stickers you can find to the right of the screen by clicking on the circular icon.

Now all you have to do is search the word “Link” in the top search bar, and some useful stickers will display that say things like “Link in bio.” This is another great way to let your audience know where to find your fundraiser URL!
