Dear Community,
Here’s our monthly recap with an update about SocialX going Open-Source and the introduction of two new additions to our team.

Open Source

We completed the entire outline for a decentralized future of socialX, the work which was executed within this months was tremendous. For this reason we decided to publish the current codebase as our open source initiative within SocialX and provide our community the transparency they deserve. The reason why we did not publish our code earlier is simple. We did not want to provide too much information about how to build a fully decentralised social network, to our competitors who might be listening closely. To say that a social network is decentralised is easy but to actually executing a fully decentralised social network is a major milestone achieved by our team.

Being open-source also enables us to attract new talents to our project more easily.

We would also like to let you know that we use multiple repositories which for the time being will not be disclosed to the public, for example our blockchain System.

So whats next?

Currently some of the core team members taking a short vacation of 5–7 days as they worked non-stop the last months. After this well deserved break we will continue to work towards our goal of a stable and fully decentralised application as mentioned in our latest update from the 22nd October.

Team

Darren will be exploring India for the next months. As he will be traveling a lot and most of the time won’t have access to the internet and thus won’t be able to appropriately fill out his role in SocialX, both parties decided that our cooperation unfortunately has to come to an end.
As a Community manager & Marketing assistant he did a great job by growing the awareness of SocialX during the last months together with our team. We thank Darren for his great work and wish him all the best for his future.

As the leaving of Darren was discussed and planned for a while now, we were able to find a replacement. We are pleased to announce Philip as our new Community manager & Marketing assistant to our SocialX team. He will help us to manage and grow our SocialX community from now on.

As you know we’ve been recruiting new developers the last weeks to join the SocialX team. We are happy that we were successful and are able to introduce Alexandru as an additional Frontend Developer.

Conference visits

Stay tuned for our conclusion of the Malta Blockchain Summit where Marcel attended in November. Next stop will be the Singapore Fintech Festival 2018. If you would like to catch up for a coffee feel free and let us know.
