Importing into Open Orienteering Mapper

Importing some geo-referenced data into Open Orienteering Mapper can be a great way to start creating a map. The import processes sets up the geo-referenced co-ordinates for the map.
In this example, we’ll be importing data previously exported from Open Street Map.
- Start Open Orienteering Mapper
- Use File > Import. Select the Open Street Map file. Select the ‘Georeferenced’ option.
- I selected the ‘UTM’ coordinate reference system, and then accepted all the defaults. The magnetic declination lookup results was accurate, and I accepted it too.
- We don’t want to connect any waypoints
- The data is imported, and the geo-referencing is processed.
