Installing LASEdit

Cloud Peak Software created LASEdit: an application that is very useful for investigating LiDAR .las files. Although the software is more than a decade old, it still works fine on a modern laptop running Windows 10.

A free demonstration version of LASEdit, unable to save any outputs, exists. Regarding the free version, Cloud Peak Software’s website said:

‘Free’ in every sense, no need to register, no strings attached, and no time-limited demo period.

In early 2008, Cloud Peak Software’s website reported:

Cloud Peak Software, LLC has been purchased by Fugro Horizons, Inc. The software previously offered on this site is no longer commercially available for purchase.

Luckily, I obtained a copy of the LASEdit free installer. (If you think I’m impinging your right by providing that link, just let me know and I’ll remove it.)

The LASEdit software installs just like any other.

Hopeless at orienteering, rubbish at flying radio controlled planes, but enjoys both activities anyway.
