Earn Crypto Cashback and Rewards with Lolli, Storm, Pei & Fold
Its that time of year with a string of deals and bargains for online shoppers — Singles Day (11.11), Black Friday (29 Nov 2019), Cyber Monday (2 Dec 2019), Travel Tuesday (3 Dec 2019), Double 12 (12.12), Christmas (25 Dec 2019), Boxing Day (26 Dec 2019).
You’re probably familiar with cashback sites and apps like Rakuten and Shopback, which reward you with cashback by starting your online shopping journey by clicking through their site. But did you know that you can earn cryptocurrencies in lieu of cashback? Here’s a quick look at the main players — Lolli, Stormshop, Pei and Fold.
Lolli
Lolli allows you to earn cash-back in Bitcoin (BTC) on your online purchases by installing the Lolli extension for your Chrome browser. When you visit a supported retailer’s online store, Lolli will notify you to enable your cashback. In July 2019, Lolli announced that it is in the midst of building a mobile app.
Prominent retailers which Lolli has snagged as partners include Walmart (3.5% Bitcoin cashback), Adidas (1.5% Bitcoin cashback), Sephora (4.5% Bitcoin cashback), Priceline (3.5% Bitcoin cashback), Macy’s (4.5% Bitcoin cashback) and many more. On some retailers like Harry’s you can even earn up to 27%.
You can transfer or withdraw the BTC from your Lolli account once your balance reaches US$15 and once the merchant’s reward locking period has expired. The normal time between a purchase and a transfer or withdraw is 30–90 days. When you’re ready to withdraw, you can input your BTC wallet address and Lolli will send you your free Bitcoin. When withdrawing Bitcoin to a wallet address, you only incur blockchain transfer fees. You can also have your earnings sent to your bank account in USD with a minor fee of $0.25.
StormShop
StormX’s StormShop is a Chrome extension that allows you to earn cashback in bitcoin, ethereum or its native Storm token. StormShop is currently only available in the U.S. The international launch is planned for early 2020.
Besides StormShop, StormX also has a mobile app, StormPlay, a gamified microtask platform which allows users to earn cryptocurrency by checking out different products, services, and by completing micro tasks.
Pei
Pei is a mobile app that which links your current debit or credit cards to provide cashback in BTC or USD when you shop online with your smartphone. Begin by linking one or several of your accounts, credit, and debit cards to your Pei account securely via Plaid. When you use a linked card or account to shop at a participating merchant, you earn cash-back rewards in the form of Pei points, which can be converted to BTC.
Fold
The latest provider to join the fold is, well, Fold. Fold is a mobile app which allows you to purchase gift cards from its participating merchants using BTC or credit/debit cards. Your cryptoback or bitcoin back can be kept in your account, spent on your next Fold purchase, or withdrawn to an external bitcoin wallet.
