Brave
Brave is a blockchain-based browser which focuses on privacy by blocking all ads and scripts by default. Brave was created by Brendan Eich, the creator of Javascript and the co-founder of Mozilla, the organization that makes the Firefox browser. Brave is now the leading cryptocurrency app on the Play Store with 40 million downloads.
Brave Rewards
Although ads are blocked by defaults, users have the option to earn Brave Rewards by viewing approved ads. Ads are not embedded in webpage content but are shown as notifications which users can choose to view at their leisure. Users are rewarded with Brave’s native token (BAT) for each ad he/she views. This is based on an ad revenue sharing model in which users receive 70% of the gross ad revenue, while Brave receives the remaining 30%.
Opera
The Opera browser allows users to search blockchain apps via URLs and has a free in-built virtual private network (VPN). VPN hides the user’s physical location.
The desktop UI is minimalist, but has a side-bar pinned with messaging apps and the in-built crypto wallet.
