Cool Clouds, Sunset at Newfound Lake in New Hampshire After Storm

Quite a thunderstorm at Newfound Lake in New Hampshire yesterday afternoon, then compelling cloudscapes and a cool sunset.

Tree limbs on power lines led to outages for several hours as crews worked to remove the wood and restore power.

Elsewhere in the East, severe thunderstorms generated some very strong winds, including gusts of 87 mph in Middletown, Delaware; 82 mph in Lower Alloways Creek, New Jersey; and 63 mph in Otis, Massachusetts, according to preliminary severe weather reports cited by the Eastern Region Headquarters at the National Weather Service.
