Telos 101: Blockchain Network Essentials
Telos is a software or code fork of EOS.IO, meaning that the Network is creating an entirely new blockchain using an improved and modified version of open-source EOSIO software.

TLOS Token
TLOS is the name of the token that reflects ownership in the Telos network. TLOS will not be airdropped to EOS wallets because Telos is a separate chain. TLOS tokens will be available to all users with accounts in the EOS genesis snapshot. Token holders can access their TLOS tokens on Telos when it is activated by using their same genesis account names and key pairs. All accounts that remain inactive after one year following network activation (approx. 63,000,000 blocks) will be deleted. Make sure your account is activated by completing an action on your accounts — that is as simple as completing a transaction or voting for block producers and Telos Foundation board members.

Key Features and Phases
Genesis keys
Also known as a Genesis address, genesis keys are the first Telos accounts that are generated from the EOS ERC-20 snapshot. The Telos Original Snapshot occurred at block 6,000,000 on January 17th, 2019 at 13:21:35 UTC. There are well over 25,000 active Telos accounts that have opted-in by performing actions prior to the snapshot.
Recovery Service: Telos offered token recovery for the last several weeks and helped 160 individuals on the EOS ERC-20 genesis snapshot with their EOS keys so that they could receive their sharedropped tokens. This program ended at launch.
Launch
Launching is the start of running the Telos network to allow votes to be cast for block producers and for network validation. After launch — which is not a single event, but rather a series of events over several days — you will be able to swap the network settings (within your wallet) via a dropdown box from testnet to mainnet.
Then you will be able to use the staked TLOS (real) tokens, which are already in your account ( no need to “claim” as in airdrop) to vote.
However, you cannot unstake or use your tokens yet for other things because these options are not available until after network “activation” when the millionth block is produced.

Validation
Independent parties will check to ensure that the new accounts injected into the chain are all present and correct, and that there are no extra accounts. If validation fails, the launch directors may correct a small number of accounts directly or a new launch and injection will be required for large-scale validation failures. More about validation: http://bit.ly/ValidatingTelosBlockchain
Activation
Activation is the point when TLOS holders can begin transferring or using their tokens beyond just voting. Users can perform any function including unstaking to make their tokens liquid. Activation occurs when the millionth block has been produced.
Monitor
Use any Telos connected monitor to track the production performance of block producers on the Telos Blockchain Network. Some options are https://monitor.telosfoundation.io/ and the block explorer https://www.eosx.io/ .

Exchanges
An exchange is a digital marketplace where you can trade TLOS tokens for other types of cryptocurrency. Exchanges and wallets are responsible for their own timelines to start offering services, so please check with them directly about the availability of TLOS service. This list will be updated as more exchanges onboard. Current as of May 19th, 2019

Scam Alert! “No Claim Service” via Telos
There is a fake Telos Foundation website that keeps resurfacing. The Telos community and Telos Foundation have been working hard to keep it offline. This is NOT in any way affiliated with www.telosfoundation.io!
The fake website often has a “-” in the address and offers a “claim” services. The real Telos Foundation site does not use a “-”. DO NOT USE THIS SITE. There is no “CLAIM” offer from the real organization. Telos would not ask for your private keys and you should never give your private keys.
