Michael Rapaport has Become Israel’s Most Incoherent Patsy

As is often the case in the world, the people who yell the loudest get the most attention. It’s not because they are intelligent or make points worth listening to. They are just so obnoxious and loud that it’s almost impossible to ignore them. That’s the entire basis of Donald Trump’s platform.

Michael Rapaport is no different. He is loud, opinionated, and obnoxious, and rarely has a shred of evidence or a conscious thought to back his opinions up. Normally, he’s manageable. During the current Israel-Hamas conflict, the man has become absolutely unbearable.

Who is Michael Rapaport?

That’s actually a very good question, one that some people probably honestly can’t answer. He’s an actor, one of those guys you’ve seen in a few movies and TV series that you know you know but you don’t know how you know. Yeah, that’s him.

Look, you have to give the man his flowers. It’s a tough business and Rapaport has been regularly working in it since 1990. That’s an impressive run to say the least. New York born and raised, Rapaport has also become well-known for a no-nonsense attitude and big opinions.

In the modern era of social media, Rapaport has found a strong foothold through regular posting of said opinions as well as being a highly active podcaster. Again, give Rapaport the respect he’s due in this regard. It’s not easy to carve out a niche in such a crowded space.

Rapaport definitely gained a lot of attention during the first and hopefully last Trump presidency. He was extremely vocal about his low opinion of Trump as a human being and even lower opinion of his work as President of the United States.

Rapaport in Israel

Originally from Poland and Russia, Rapaport‘s family are Ashkenazi Jews. To his credit, he has always exhibited pride in his heritage and never tried to hide it. To the best of my knowledge, at least. In a world that is filled with anti-Semitic people, I respect and support Michael for being vocally proud of his Jewish heritage. Why shouldn’t he be?

Rapaport is also his own worst enemy, particularly since October 7th, 2023. If he was simply calling for a ceasefire or for Hamas to return their hostages or for Israel’s rights as a sovereign nation to be respected, I would get that. But he’s doing something else entirely.

He keeps jumping on social media to make incredibly loud, stupid points about Palestine and Israel. One of my favorites was when he was jabbering about not being able to find Palestine on a map. Numerous people online came to his aide and showed him an almost endless array of different world maps showing Palestine on them prior to the existence of Israel.

More recently, Rapaport has joined the ever-growing list of C and D list American actors trying to help Israel massage the PR nightmare the country created for itself. He’s posted several videos from Israel about “not being able to find the apartheid” in various places around Israel. Care to take a guess where he doesn’t go looking for apartheid?

The Problem with Being Loud and Dumb

Rapaport thinks he’s making a point about Israel by being loud and obnoxious with his uninformed opinions. He did the same thing during the Trump presidency. I enjoy bashing Trump as much as the next guy but Rapaport frequently made next to no sense while doing it.

What he doesn’t get is that his cartoonish behavior makes it impossible to take him seriously. If anything, he is proving the opposite point. He made anti-Trumpers look like absolute lunatics and he’s doing the same with the pro-Israel groups he thinks he’s helping.

Ironically, he’s now talking about voting for Trump if Biden can’t get the “anti-Israel” factions in the US under control. That’s how far down the rabbit hole the man has gone at this point. Rapaport is willing to betray his own ideals and support a potential tyrant he has spoken out against for years as long as said tyrant suppresses people who don’t agree with him.

It doesn’t help that Rapaport keeps mispronouncing the word “apartheid” every time he uses it in his videos. If he wants people to take his opinions remotely seriously, pronouncing the name of the concept he is willfully misunderstanding correctly would be a good start.

Unfortunately, Michael Rapaport is a prime example of what the world hates about stereotypical Americans. He’s loud, opinionated, and uninformed, travelling half way around the world to muck about in a situation he obviously doesn’t understand, only to make it worse, all while demonizing anyone who doesn’t agree with him.
