Andrew Hem’s Make It Rain

My dream
is to be as faithful
and grateful
and graceful
as those three
quiet, serene deer.
Drinking from puddles
colored by pebbles
and fallen leaves
bowing to the three
at whose base the puddle lies
Oh,
to live a sense of communion
and humility.
Communion with the earth
and humility of the self.
