It’s hard to see
as I’m trapped
in a burning house
that you
are strangled
by your own forces
as well.
What did we do
or not do
to end up here?
What, with all this
sadness and confusion,
will get us through the days?
Maybe a simple game
of tic tac toe
will help us forget
if just for a bit.
