As 2022 came to an end, we are excited to highlight the vital moments it has brought us and announce the next steps on Tollan Worlds' roadmap that await us in 2023.

1. The Backstory + What is Tollan Worlds?
Let's zoom out for a minute and answer the most important question once and for all, what Tollan Worlds actually is and how it all started?
The idea and concept of Tollan Worlds were shaping throughout late 2021 and early 2022 finally coming to its final form in March’22. We spent a year designing, writing code, and building the world while actively collaborating with our community. We were able to build a strong international player base and are proudly entering 2023 with plans to make it even bigger and stronger. And remember, we are just getting started :)
And for those of you who still wonder, Tollan Worlds is an Action MMO game where you play as an escapee from the authoritarian city with an empiric mentality called The Mainland. Finding your way through endless Darklands and finally stumbling upon a hidden developing society in the middle of nowhere. That's where your journey begins. Players will shape their own path through the main story as well as go to dungeons with their friends and join forces with many other players for massive boss fights. They can explore the vast world where each new place brings new creatures, stories, and unforgettable experiences while being determined to the main objective of defending their new home from the ubiquitous forces of The Mainland.
2. Tollan Comic
This year our very own comic book came to life. Tollan Comic Teaser told a story about Alessa and Magpie who met a man in a hood while walking around the forest. He showed them the city “hiding” on the top of the mountain.
Later our first comic book issue was released. It was a part of the short series called “The Stories from the Enchanted City” which introduces readers to aesthetics, characters, and other components of Tollan Worlds' universe.
Our early community members were able to claim their digital versions of Tollan Comic that they could later use in our pre-alpha.
3. Pre-Alpha (The First Adventure) + Tollan Comic Burning
This fall our pre-alpha came to life and players could step into Tollan Worlds for the first time for their First Adventure and fight their way through underground creatures to discover ancient secrets of Mushroom Mines inside Tollan Peak.
Tollan Comic Burning was a special in-game event where holders of Tollan Comic could burn their comic books on the altar after defeating The Guardian. The comic is a magical artifact and burning it unleashed a dark magical energy that tends to be unpredictable.

4. Marks of Fate
In November’22 we launched our pre-alpha on Elixir Launcher together with a special event called “Marks of Fate”. There are 4 different marks and after completion of the quest each player claimed 1 of them with a 25% chance each.
Marks of Fate will be used in our next demo where players will have to gather into teams of 4 where each of them has different Mark to unlock special rewards, the official event announcement coming in early 2023.

5. Partnerships and Integrations
1) Chainlink
To make the in-game experience the fairest and most transparent all Marks of Fate are digital collectibles on the blockchain and the randomness that is responsible for determining which Mark each player gets is verifiable and transparent. We were able to achieve that by integrating the VRF solution from Chainlink, learn more about it here.
2) Push Protocol
We launched Tollan channel on Push protocol to facilitate decentralized communication between us and our community.

3) Unstoppable Domains
With unstoppable domains integration players can now bring their digital identity into Tollan Worlds.
6. Roadmap Update for 2023
We have plenty of stuff prepared for 2023 and are excited to share it with everyone.
