Chair Yoga — Chair Cat/Cow Pose

Doing this position while at work can alleviate a lot of pain and stress for you.

The Chair Cat/Cow Pose is called that because you are doing the basic cat/cow pose (which emulates an arching cat/hanging belly of a cow).

Doing the Chair Cat/Cow Pose

  1. Sit on the chair making sure that you are not using the back of the chair for support. Make sure that the footing of the chair is stable and secure so that it doesn’t move.
  2. Place your feet about a foot or so apart. Whatever is comfortable to you.
  3. Press your hands on your thighs to help straighten your spine. Press your head towards the ceiling and push your sit bones down. Make sure that your head is over your heart and your shoulders are over your hips.
  4. Roll your shoulders back while taking a deep breath (cow pose). Hold it for a few seconds.
  5. Exhale and curl your body inward (cat pose). Do this a few times. This will help relieve tension and…
