A Brand New Homepage
I’ve spent much of the week personally redesigning our homepage from scratch. The new design places a strong emphasis on the signup bonus that we offer new users. This is perhaps our biggest user-acquisition driver, and it should have been at the forefront of our signup pitch a long time ago.
As CEO, I give much of the credit for the foundation of this design to our two new interns: Julian and Sachin, both first-year students at the University of Virginia. Their first intern task was to analyze our old signup page and prepare a report of recommendations and suggestions for improvement.
Our lead developer, Akhil, also deserves recognition. He battled bugs on the homepage until nearly 3am so we could have it ready to deploy well before the weekend. This gives us time to monitor user engagement and take in feedback on the homepage before making more adjustments, if necessary, on Monday of next week.
Android App Beta Test
On November 6th, we sent out the beta version of our Android mobile app for Belacam. We are working with our beta testers to gather feedback, add highly-requested features, and improve the current features. We’re aiming to have the app on the Android app store by the end of the month!
Notification Section Work
We are introducing a Follow Back button in the notifications that users receive when someone else follows them. The notification part of Belacam is one that has traditionally underperformed, so we are excited to make improvements and advancements here.
