This article is the first post of a series of personal book recommendations. I mainly write technical blogs here on Medium although the recommendations here will cover every aspect of life. Each time I’ll introduce you three books that I’ve read personally and enjoyed.

ReWork

Rework

From the founders of Basecamp (ex 37signals) Rework is in complete contrast to most business books.

Instead of writing about what’s already been written in every other business book, it’ll get straight to the bottom.

Everyone can start a business. You don’t need a 5-year plan. You don’t need outside investors. You don’t need to be a workaholic. You don’t even need an office.

All of those things — and many others — are just excuses. Rework shows you the way.

The Design of Everyday Things

The Design of Everyday Things

It’s a classic book recommendation. Everyone who is interested in product design or working on products should read it.

A product with a clear intention is what we need. Often subtle signifiers can help in understanding the nature of the product.

The book shows many examples, explains what’s brilliant, what’s horrific and how you can avoid making the same mistakes as others have made.

The Mind Illuminated

The Mind Illuminated

I’ve been meditating since November 2016.

Headspace is fabulous if you want to get started with meditation.

However, if you want to advance your practice further or even start to meditate this is the book you should go for.

Information and different techniques are split up into ten stages. Each stage helps you to focus on your current whereabouts and advance stage by stage.

Don’t worry. It also took me two tries to persist meditating daily.
